After seven intense weeks in Luxembourg and the north of France the shooting goes into its second half. Next, the team surrounding the first assistant director Charlotte Marrel (center), co-director Frédéric Goupil (right), and showrunner Jan Peter (left) moves from the nightly Berlin of the 1920’s to a minesweeper of the German High Seas Fleet in the year 1918. The scenes from the German November Revolution will be filmed in the Dutch naval port of Den Helder. The shooting will be continued in Belgium – in Spa, Verviers and other places.

After the worldwide success of “14 – Diaries of the Great War” the shooting of the sequel “18 – Clash of Futures” starts today. The first location is the castle of Meesenburg in the north of Luxembourg, which was transformed for the camera into a Russian children´s home during the NEP era.

This elaborate project was made possible by the editorial departments of ARTE, SWR, NDR, WDR, RBB and ORF as well as substantial financial support from the Luxembourg Film Found, CNC, MDM, MFG, the Media Program of the European Union and many more. The eight-part series is produced by LOOKSFilm Leipzig, Les Films D’Ici Paris and IRIS Group from Luxembourg and Belgium. Fortis Imaginatio is co-producer and involved with showrunner Jan Peter, associate producer Michael Faustino Bauer and creative producer Sandra Naumann.

Only two weeks to go until the shooting of “18 – Clash of Futures” starts!

Currently, the team surrounding “18” showrunner Jan Peter, co-director Frédéric Goupil, and director of photography Jürgen Rehberg is preparing the first shots to kick-off the shooting that will last eleven weeks.

Also, Fortima producer Sandra Naumann is art director on set, all the while the giant former steel mills of Esch/ Luxembourg turn into a Spanish Civil War scenery.
